How to Replace a Bulb Socket - Five Steps 

First of all, choose the right replacement socket and arrange the tools that you will need including Ladder, on contact voltage tester, screwdrivers, and Pliers. First, off all turn off the power by switching off the breaker. Use a tester to make test the power and remove the light bulb and tap the tester to the metal tab in the socket. After testing you have to remove the globe from the fixture. Loose the screw or nut by holding the globe in one hand.

Set the globe aside by removing the mounting screw that is ensuring the fixture to the electrical carton in the wall or ceiling. Accurately pick the fixture again away without touching any wire. Electrician now taps the connector counterclockwise by removing it from the wires. Cut the ground cable from the box and take the fixture down by placing it on the workbench or table.

You have to pull the black and from the socket by using the hole in the fixture so that you can remove the socket easily and quickly. Separate the socket and place the screw by holding the socket to the fixture. If you find out any screw or nut remove it with a screwdriver or a Pillar. Now remove the socket from its place and install the new socket.

You have to fit the new socket in its exact position by securing it with the screw and nut. Don't try to tighten too much as the socket could be fragile. Reinstall the fixture by holding it back to the wall and connecting the wire in the same way. you have to tie the black wires under one wire nut and white wire under another. Be careful and don't try to pinch an electrical wire.

Clean and install the fixture globe by reinstalling it into the fixture. Now it's time to screw the light bulb in the new socket. Turn on Power and test the fixture for normal operation. If you are still confused then call a Professional Electrician who can do this job for you.
